26th INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIX
FOR AUTHOR’S DOCUMENTARIES
The Jury of the 26th International Grand Prix for Author's Documentaries screened 10 programs in competition and proclaimed its prize list on Monday, June 11th, 2007. The Jury was chaired by Jean-Christophe Rufin. The Prizes were awarded in the presence of Jean-Paul Cluzel, Chairman and CEO of Radio France, President of URTI, in Hotel Hermitage (Monte-Carlo).

TEXAS, DEATH BY INJECTION

This documentary takes a keen look on the question of the death penalty by injection in Texas, imposed to a condemned woman who proclaims her innocence. This film does not concentrate only on the case of Frances Newton. It constitutes a strong indictment against a State injustice : the capital punishment imposed to prisoners who do not have the opportunity to have an impartial trial and a real defence.
