Tim Gibbons
(USA) Producer, Director
Tim Gibbons, an award-winning television and film Producer and Director, is currently Executive Producer of HBO’s comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm. While on “Curb”, he’s won a Golden Globe (2003), two Producers Guild of America’s Producer of the Year awards (2002 & 2004), two DGA awards (2002 & 2004), the Monte-Carlo Television Festival’s Outstanding Producer of the Year, Comedy (2003), and has been nominated for three primetime Emmys, plus numerous other awards.
He recently formed Invasion TV, through which he’ll create, develop and produce his own projects. Currently, he’s in various stages of development on a slate of projects, including an untitled MTV scripted comedy and a reality drama that goes behind the scenes with the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department Homicide Bureau.
In 2006, he was Co-Executive Producer for HBO’s single camera comedy, The Unsuccessful Thug, and Executive Producer and Director for A&E’s hidden camera reality series, Spying on Myself. In 2004, Gibbons produced HBO’s comedy pilot, The Comeback. Prior to Curb, he was Producer and Director of the hidden camera sketch comedy The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, and was the Supervising Producer and Director for the reality series Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Gibbons is on National Board of Directors for the Producers Guild of America, having also served as its President (with Kathleen Kennedy) in 2001-2002. He’s also on the Primetime Awards and the Producers Peer Group Executive Committees for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
He started his career in television with four years at Dick Clark Productions and through the years has worked on more than 125 productions, including a four-year stint as Executive in Charge of Production for First-Run Syndication for Lorimar/Telepictures. |
