The 47th Monte-Carlo TV Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide have joined forces to permit international viewers to reward programs who delivered the highest ratings worldwide.
These 2nd International TV Audience Awards will be designated by viewers: through the sum of the TV ratings across 5 continents. It will reward the programme delivering the highest ratings worldwide in 2006 in three categories: “Drama TV Series“, “Comedy TV Series”, and "Telenovelas" / "Soap Operas".
Nominees were revealed today, during the Monte Carlo TV Festival Press Conference in Paris.
Programs in competition for the title of the most-watched television show are:
“Drama TV series” : CSI : Las Vegas (USA)
CSI : Miami (USA)
Lost (USA)
“Comedy TV Series” :
Desperate Housewives (USA)
Monk (USA)
Mr Bean (UK)
“Telenovelas” / “Soap Operas”:
El Cuerpo del Deseo (Colombia)
Pasión de Gavilanes (Colombia)
The Bold and The Beautiful (USA)
The nominees are pre-selected among the ten best performing imported fiction programmes in 47 countries, i.e. 2.4 billion potential viewers.
The winners will be announced during the 47th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Awards Ceremony, Thursday 14th June 2007 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
