Pascal Breton - President of the Jury
(France) CEO - Marathon Group
Pascal Breton was born in 1958. Following his studies at the Institute of Political Studies (Paris) and after obtaining a PhD in Political Studies, he started out in 1981 as producer of TF1’s TV magazines Étoiles et Toiles (Stars and Webs) and Megahertz, along with Alain Sedouy. In 1983, he became a reporter for FR 3’s program Vendredi (Friday), before going on to produce a number of movie-theme magazines for FR 3 covering the Cannes Festival (1985-1986). The following year, he produced the cultural TV show Cherchez la France (Looking for France) and Souris Noire (Black Mouse/Series), 20 thirteen-minute films co-produced by FR 3 and sold to 14 countries. In 1988, he joined Ellipse-Fiction (Canal+) as Animation Fiction Manager. Next, in 1990, he got together with Olivier Brémond to create the audiovisual production company, Marathon Productions, for which he acts as General Manager, executive producer and writer. He develops and produces Marathon’s principal productions: The Intrepids (52 x 26’), The Challengers (104 x 26’), Saint Tropez (440 x 52’), Dolmen (6 x 90’). In January 2006, Marathon merged with Marathon Media, Tele Images and Adventure Line Productions to form France’s second largest audiovisual group: The Marathon Group. Pascal Breton is the President of this new group. |
