Synopsis:
On 24th September 2000, Vincent Humbert leaves the barracks to meet his girl friend. On the last bend before home he meets a huge truck coming the other way, and ends up mangled in the wreck. In a critical condition, Vincent is admitted to Evreux hospital where he undergoes 15 operations. But the doctors give Marie, his mother, little hope. Comatose, tetraplegic, his eyes sewed shut and his body invaded with a network of tubes, Vincent is transferred to a sanatorium. Marie is convinced her son will get better - it's just matter of time and love. But a little initial progress is all that Vicent will physically achieve. Lucid and aware of his severe pathology, Vincent asks his mother to help him die.
