Synopsis - 2nd episode

Having narrowly avoided expulsion from school, Marcel is elevated to leadership status by his new classmates, quickly asserting his personality as he gets involved in a series of scrapes.

After turning sixteen, he studies for his baccalaureate and enjoys his first amorous experiences with Clémentine, once the little girl next door but now a pretty dancer. His first love Isabelle then crosses his path, but the romance is not to be rekindled. Asked by his classmate Lagneau to write love letters for him, Marcel becomes aware of his gift for writing, albeit in somewhat comical circumstances. On the day the village celebrates his father receiving a special award for his services to the teaching profession, young Marcel learns that his first story has just been published. He decides, though, that the day belongs to his father.
